Delay in tax refund for husband who passed away

It is now more than 7 months since you wrote to me saying you would work out my late husband’s tax within 8 weeks.

I’m not asking you to check my specific one. I’m asking you to explain why such a thing can take so long. There isn’t anything complicated about my situation.

There maybe information we are missing that can delay claims which may not have been known when the original reponse was made, there may also be backlogs in certain work areas, again we cannot specifically say why something may take longer than expected without seeing the specific case.
