Hi Umar Farooq,
There are no Income Tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax.
Further guidance can be found here
Tax on savings interest
Tax on dividends
Thank you.

Hi LSE SEROUX,
No, there is no need for your daughter to declare this money transfer.
Thank you.

Hi There When my parents from EU send me money as a gift to purchase a house, what documentation or rather how to document/proove it that it was a gift, if any questions are asked in future. Should it be a document that we compile between us and thats it or does it need to be shown or registered somewhere else? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan,
There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift whether from the UK or overseas, unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends. These would then potentially be subject to tax.
