Hi, I got some savings interest from my overseas bank accounts totalling around 6000 pounds. This is the only income I had in 23/24 tax year. Since I know this amount is below the personal tax allowance, so I assume no tax liability for me. My question is: do I still need to fill in the self assessment to declare this? Regarding this questionnaire: www.gov.uk/check-if-you-need-tax-return, there is a question - Do you need to pay tax on any of the following? I don't know if the answer for me should be yes or no, since I assume I don't need to pay tax for my 6K foreign savings interest but this is the interest generated from outside the UK. Very confusing! Thanks for your answer.

Hi ,

As it is foreign income you still need a tax return to show this  .

Thank you .
