I have an inside IR35 contract working through an umbrella company called Workwell for a UK end client. I want to leave the UK and reside in Guernsey and continue to operate my inside IR35 contract which is PAYE. I have seen P85 and understand I can apply for a NT tax code and then register to pay tax in Guernsey under the Double Taxation agreement. Will my umbrella company be able to apply the NT tax code or should I wait until the end of the tax year and if so how should I manage NI contributions which I pay. I pay both employer and employee under IR35 PAYE umbrella. Has anyone successfully done this before in the Channel Islands?

Hi GlobalWorker,
Your employer can only apply the NT tax code once it has been approved and issued by HMRC.
This will be done once your claim has been processed, if applicable.
Thank you.
