Hi, I have my settle status here in UK and I am French. I inherited a property in France 3 years ago. I never did anything with it yet, I am trying to sell it and I pay taxes on it in France. A few days ago, I received a worrying letter from HMRC saying that I might have received overseas income or gains and I need to declare it. I have no idea what this refers to. I don't have any income in other countries. Can you advise?

Hi Elodie Demetrescu,
If you are resident in the UK you need to report the sale of the property in the UK
Please see further guidance here:
Tax on foreign income
Thank you.
