Declaring savings interest where only £2,800 of other income

My only income is £2,854 from a pension and £12,100 from savings interest. Do I owe any tax on this given my £12,570 personal allowance and £5000 Starting rate for savings? Also do I need to declare this via self assessment or does HMRC get the information direct from the banks?
