With Profits Income Bond - Power of Attorney

Good morning, I am the power of attorney for an individual who has dementia and has gone into a home. I have received a chargeable event certificate due to surrendering a bond to pay for the care. How do i notify HMRC and pay the tax owed? As the online information only relates to a self-assessment which the individual concerned does not have the capacity to do. Any assistance would be appreciated. Many thanks.

If the event is less than £10,000 you can send this in to us. If over, it needs to be declared via a tax return  . Thank you .
