When completing the Certificate of Residence, we are asked what article applies. When two types of income are selected, for example dividends and interest have been selected, based on a double tax treaty two articles apply. How do you enter both article numbers on the form?

Hi! I wonder if you could please help. We applied for a certificate of residence on 16 July 2024 and re-applied on 19 February 2025. This is for the same deceased client. The residence certificate processing time usually takes a few weeks as per HMRC website. However, not in our case. This is very frustrating. Please advise how we can speed up the process. I would appreciate your help and advise. Thnak you.

Hi ,

You only need enter 1 article on the form, perhaps using the article relating to the largest foreign income.
