New to doing a self assessment, I am an ordinary member in an LLP. I am not involved in running the business, just get paid for the hours I do (swimming teacher). Am I partnerships for self assessment purposes? Also can I claim the £1000 expense allowance? I made over £1000 in the accounting period . Thanks

As your share of the income will be the profit after the deduction of expenses, then no.
