Good Morning, I've just received my first US Stimulus payment for $1800 and have another one on the way for $1400 (one for the 2020 tax year and one for 2021). I am a UK and US citizen and all of my income is from the UK where I live, having spoken to an HMRC advisor on the phone they've said that I need to file a self assessment and declare the payments in the UK however having checked the forum it appears that I do not. Can someone please confirm for me whether these need to be taxed or not and whether I need to file a self assessment?

Hi,

As a US citizen, these stimulus payments are not taxable in the UK  .

Thank you.
