I have had emails telling me "You have a new message from HMRC about Self Assessment. To view it, sign in to your HMRC online account. For security reasons, we have not included a link with this email." When I log in to my account, there are no messages and the only reference to self assessment is the 31 Jan 2023 deadline. I'm worried that there's another online account for me that requires some sort of action. I've tried the online digital assessment and the phone line but no joy - I guess they are very busy right now! Should I just ignore the emails?

Hi John Beaver,

The message that is available at this time of year is a reminder that you can now file the 21/22 tax return.

Thank you.
