Filling self-assessment form as independent contractor

Hi, I work online as an independent contractor and I am aware I have to fill in the self-assessment form in UK. It is the first time I am doing it . I created a government gateway account, however I do not manage to get through the personal identity verification process, How may I get it done, using detail such as my passport number or biometric certificate number? It is worrying me because I am lost in the process of filing such tax, your assistance will be appreciated, thankyou!

If you are unable to verify with the options given for the Government Gateway, you will need to submit a paper tax return.
