This is my first time registering for self assessment can I submit previous years forms which I was unaware I had to do because I am not a tax payer, my income has only been approximately £3000 a year until this year where now i am a tax payer

When you register you can register for returns going back to 2019/20.

Will I get penalised for late submission

Hi,

You will have 3 months and 7 days to complete returns from the date that the return is requested by HMRC. You will not have any late filing penalties during this period however you may have interest added to any tax due.

Hi, does the self assessment page on your gov gateway appear after the 6th so I can do my tax return? I can’t seem to find where it says self assessment

Yes. It only appears once the new tax year starts.
