Hi there, I was self-employed for many years, however in January of this year I started employment with a company that has been paying my tax and NI. I didn't earn much in the last 9-12 months self-employed, and that was a major factor in joining a company. I had a statement dated June stating I had to pay £1,200 on the 31st of July. The "At A Glance" page is telling me that I am actually owe a repayment of £300. I'm unsure which one is correct, and I'm unable to get through to HMRC during the working day as I am in an office. Do I work on the information from the June statement, or do I pay attention to the "At A Glance" page instead?

Hi Luke Blackwell,

If there is a credit on your account currently, this would not be allocated against the amount due for the Payment on Account until 31/07.
If you are unable to call our helpline, you will need to check the account after 31/07 for the updated position.
If you are able to submit your tax return for 21/22 now, this would update the Payments on Account based on the information provided on the tax return.

Thank you
