I am unexpectedly inheriting a UK SIPP, from somebody who was aged over 75 when they died. I understand that normally I would have to pay UK income tax on this, but I’m not tax resident in the UK (I live in the US). I do file a UK self assessment tax return each year as I have UK rental income. As a SIPP beneficiary, should I still pay UK income tax on this or should it be taxed in my country of residence? Many thanks. Many thanks.
