My wife and I are completing self-assessment returns for the first time. A Marriage Allowance (MA) Transfer is in place from my wife's Personal Allowance (PA) to mine, but when we view the calculations on-line for both of us the standard PA (£12570) is used. Is there a way to ensure the on-line calculation uses Tax Codes that reflect the MA Transfer or is this a known shortcoming of the system and an adjustment is made by HMRC before a tax bill is issued?

Hi
If Marriage Allowance is already in place, we will adjust the calculations once the returns have been submitted and issued a revised SA302 calculation.
Thankyou.
Regards.

Many thanks for the clarification, HMRC Admin 10. As a SA first-timer I had not realised that the figure given in the 'View your calculation' document produced before submission is an estimate rather than an actual amount. Does it take long for the "revised SA302" to be issued? My wife and I wish to pay any tax due promptly and certainly before 31 January 2023.
