As the title says, I'm filling out my self-assessment and it wants to charge me over £1000 even though I pay it monthly through PAYE and my employer, and not even above the threshold to be paying it back properly yet, so why is it trying to charge me so much?

Hi,

If the incorrect amount was deducted through PAYE you may be asked to pay more. Please include the amount that has been deducted on the return and contact our helpline after 72 hours, we will then be able to view the calculation.

Self Assessment: general enquiries

Thank you.

Yes but this is asking for over 1000 pounds more. £1,127.00 to be specific. I don't understand why it's asking for so much, or any at all, when I'm already paying through it monthly?

Hi,

We would not be able to advise on this until you submit the return and we can view the calculation.

Thank you.
