I live abroad. I paid voluntary contributions on 2nd April 2025, when can I expect to receive confirmation that the payment by bank transfer has been received and the amount matched with my account. Also, when can I expect to see my pension payments increase. It is quite worrying to not even receive a confirmation of monies received or that the form that was completed and returned to Newcastel upon Tyne has been received.

Hi SueA Anthony,
If you contact the centre from non-residents National Insurance helpline, they will be able to advise on your payment made and the current position of your National Insurance account.
They will also provide you with timescales for any updates to your National Insurance record towards a revised state pension with the Department for Work and Pensions.
Number - 0300 200 3500
Overseas - 0044 191 203 7010
Open - Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
Thank you.

I live abroad. Got my CF83 and paid 2 years on 1/10/24. Paid 2 years on my wife's contributions on 19/11/24. My wife's record and state pension estimate has updated. Mine hasn't, even though her payment was made nearly 7 weeks later. Have phoned and been told to keep checking. Obviously payments are not being processed in the order they were made. My payment is showing on the system.

Hi,
We had a huge volume of payments of Voluntary NICs towards the end of the 2024-25 tax year and we are working through them as quickly as possible.
If you are concerned, you can call the NI helpline and they will be able to confirm receipt of your payment and allocate it for you.
Thank you.

Any time I have contacted the ní Helpline, they can confirm that payment has been received. But they cannot allocate payment, as this is done by the international payments team? Is this the case? And as previously stated, why aren't payments being processed in the order they are received? As I said before. My wife's payment made 6 weeks after mine has been processed but mine has not. And to be told by the helpline to keep checking my account, isn't good enough.

Hi Anthony Chilcott,
I am afraid our processing times change constantly in line with the volume of work received and how our staff are deployed.
If at any point you fall within 6 month of your State Pension age or you are already state pension age, and your payment has still not been allocated, please contact
the National Insurance department on 0300 200 3500 or +44 191 203 7010 if calling from outside the UK.
This is the only exception we can consider in escalating an allocation.
