We submitted forms SA400 and SA401 for a new partnership in August 2021. We have chased HMRC several times to provide the partnership UTR but, as yet, it has not arrived. We are agents for this partnership but HMRC will not talk to us as there is no authority in place (although a 64-8 was sent in with the SA400 forms). Can the client phone up themselves and ask for the UTR over the phone (possibly not going to happen at this stage due to HMRC phone wait times). Is there another method of getting the UTR? Thanks in advance.

Hi David Ross,

The client can call us to request the UTR.
If the UTR has been generated it should be linked to the clients record.
