Hi there, I am doing my brother's tax returns for the first time. He is a self-employed dentist. He does not work from home, he works at the practice, however he has courses that he undertakes as part of his profession. He has to travel to courses and also studies at home. This may be a silly question, but can he claim that portion of home expenses (wifi etc) due to him studying at home? I am pretty certain that you cannot claim that portion as it is not for "business" use technically, it is indirectly for the business, although it is directly related to his profession. Can anyone confirm? Thank you,
