Hi, Hopefully a quick one. I've been claiming child benefit for several years and have been completing a self-assessment, as requested by HMRC, due to qualifying for the higher-income child benefit charge. This is the only reason I submit a self-assessment. However, I decided to cancel my child benefit payments for the entire 2023/24 FY. Is it okay that I don't submit an assessment for this year? I'm getting repeated emails requesting an SA submission from HMRC so I'm just a bit worried that I needed to make some contact. Or can I just ignore the emails and do nothing (I have no other reason to submit an SA). Thanks,

Hi,
If you no longer need to complete a Self Assessment return, you must contact us to confirm this.
You can do so here:
 Self Assessment tax returns.
Thank you.
