Hello, I have a job with PAYE and a second job as food delivery rider. I registered for self-assessment because I exceeded £1000 with deliveries. I will submit my tax return for 2023/2024, but do I have to declare items that sold on Vinted for less than £1000 as my income? Do I have to declare absolute all income for self-employed jobs or only the ones above £1000 allowance? Thanks,

Hi,
A self assessment tax return is used to declare your world-wide income and capital gains, that arose in a tax year.
If your sales from Vinted are trading income, you would declare this as a separate source self employment on your tax return, as you will have exceed the trading income
allowance of £1,000 with your delivery business.
Please see guidance re selling on line When you may need to pay tax for selling goods or services online.
Thank you.

Thank you for checking this. I didn’t sell these items for profit on Vinted. I sold only things that I didn’t need anymore for cheaper than I had bought them. Do I still have to declare this income? I wanted to know if I have to declare absolutely any income, even 1£, once I exceed my £1000 allowance for doing delivery jobs. Thank you.

Hi,
If you disposed of personal possession, this is not trading as a sole trader.
Please have a look at the guidance on capital gains tax on personal possessions at Capital Gains Tax on personal possessions.
Thank you.
