Hi I am looking for advice. I'm completing self assessment for 20/21. On self assessment it automatically comes up with £0. When looking at Tax Code for 6/4/20 to 5/4/21 we have a figure for "Less adjustment for estimated tax you owe (this year)- does this need to be changed from 0 to this figure? We also have a much higher figure with same message for tax code for 21 to 22. If I leave at £0 we end up being due tax but not sure this is correct? Grateful for advice.

Your tax code may have been running off a previous estimate.

Once the tax return is processed, if we do not expect you to owe any tax for 2021/22 we would issue a new code to remove any deductions.

Thank you.

I've just completed my return for 2020-2021 and have got a notice for underpaid tax for earlier years. Can you tell me how I can find out where this has come from? Thanks Martin
