when to register for 2024-25 s/a website confusing

i started self employment oct 2024 - and will need to self assess when i click on the gov form it asks about 23-24 which doesnt apply to me , am i right i can apply anytime up till october 2025 ? or how do i apply without suggesting i want to assess for before then? thank you

You must register for self assessment by 5 October after the end of the tax year. For example, if you need to complete a tax return for the tax year 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025, you must register by 5 October 2025.
