Hello, I have a question regarding the following: My parents want to send me some money from an EU country, and I am a UK resident. Can they send these money as a gift to me without me or them paying any tax/fee to UK? Is there any amount limit? If after some years I decide to go back to my origin country, will I be able to bring again this money with me without paying any tax/fee to UK? Thank you

Hi,

There are no tax implications for receiving cash gifts unless this generates taxable income such as interest or dividends. However, you may wish to speak to Inheritance Tax in case there are any tax implications there.

Please see guidance here:

How Inheritance Tax works: thresholds, rules and allowances

Thanks
