I am employed full time and pay tax under PAYE, but I have done a few talks for a pharmaceutical company which resulted in being paid an honorarium. The total amount recieved is greater than £1000 so I am aware I need to do a self assessment for the payments recieved - these are unlikely to continue in the future and were on an ad hoc basis with no contract. I have never had to do a self assessment before. Is this honorarium classed as self-employment for the purposes of my self assessment?
