Hi I am unable to file my late self assessment form despite being non self employed and have been fined for this. I cannot do so as HMRC have still not sent my activation code by post as they state. What's the solution to this? I contacted them by message online and nothing has happened. It's a farce karim

Hi,

You should ensure that your address is correct, and then request the activation code after 72 hours.

If you have still not received it within 10 working days after this you should contact our Online Services Helpdesk :

Technical support with HMRC online services    .

Thank you.

Hi,

You can only appeal against the penalty once the return has been submitted.

The appeal form is here:

Self Assessment: appeal against penalties for late filing and late payment

Thank you.
