Hi, I am filling in the section as below and unsure whether I fully understand the meaning. Fill in your return Underpaid tax included in PAYE coding (Page 2 of 2) Amount of estimated underpaid tax for 6 April 2021 to 5 April 2022 to be included in your PAYE tax code for 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023 (from your PAYE Notice of Coding). Please enter '0' if there is nothing shown: £_________ I have my "Tax code notice" for 6 Apr 2021 to 5 Apr 2022 which was received at Oct 2021. The "Note 4 - Estimated tax you owe (this year)" showed that as below  Due to an in year adjustment to your tax code(s) we think that you will owe HMRC £2515.6. So that you pay the right tax for the year, we have included an adjustment to reduce your tax-free allowance by £XXXX to collect the £2515.6 tax in equal instalments from now on by increasing the tax deducted from your wage, salary or pension so that the £2515.6 is paid by 5 April 2022.  My question is 1. should put £1001 in the blank field in the section "Underpaid tax included in PAYE coding (Page 2 of 2)"? 2. anything I should refer to the your tax code notice for 2022 to 2023? Appreciate for your promptly response, thanks!

Hi,

If the coding notice has an estimated underpayment for 2021 to 2022 which is being collected in that 2021 to 2022 code you do not enter that on the tax return.

Thank you.
