Hello there, I recently registered for self assessment and received a UTR in my married name, however I work as a freelancer and am known professionally by my maiden name. If I have to invoice someone, is it acceptable to put on the paperwork, "Married Name (trading as Maiden Name)" to acknowledge this? For reference I am registered as a sole trader rather than a limited company (again, in my married name). My bank details where I will receive future payment is also in my married name. Any help much appreciated.
