Can anyone please tell me whether I would need to request and fill in a self-assessment form? My P60 pay is greater than £50K, but less than the £50099 at which the calculator says any tax is due (from the calculator: "There is no tax charge if your income is below £50,099"). I can't find anywhere that talks about this no tax, but >£50K region. I have no other sources of income. Thanks.

If you are below £50099 you do not need to complete the return. Please ensure you are taking into account any employment benefits as this could push you over the threshold.

Thank you.

@David Brett HICBC is based on your adjusted net income, not just your taxable earnings. So if you have taxable earnings of £50,095 and £5 of taxable interest (which would be taxed at 0%) and have no pension or Gift Aid contributions which can be deducted then your adjusted net income would be £50,100 and you would have a 1% HICBC to pay.
