Hi, First I have been trying to reach HMRC by phone for the past 2 hours to no avail. I have filed a nil self-assessment for the years 2021/2022 with the calculation showing that I have nothing to pay. I have not traded at all in this year so everything is essentially 0. Now the calculation came back and it shows that I have 2772 £ to pay while at the same time saying I have nothing to pay. Can somebody help? It is near impossible to resolve this right now.

I too have received confusing letter stating different calculated amounts to pay on my self assessment. Intried web chat, no help, telephoned 3 times hung up after 20 minutes on hold, have today put query in writing and posted 1st class hope it is sorted before deadline, why couldn’t it be done via email?
