Hello, I am about to renew my benefits: critical illness and personal accident insurance covers and I would this to cover also my partner (self employed). I pay tax on this benefits though my payslip on the full amount of course (which includes myself and my partner). I have now a doubt if my partner has to declare this even if I pay for the benefits and the tax on it? What happens if I want to enroll them also into my medical insurance? Also for medical insurance I pay tax through my payslip as confirmed by my employer. Before taking any action I want to make sure my partner does not have to declare anything via self assessment as I am paying everything through my payslip or if instead they have to pay tax for it. I would find this as paying twice but could you please clarify? Thank you.

Hi Maryg,
If this is paid via your employment then it is only you who will pay tax on it.
Thank you.
