Hi, Hope you can help. I have 2 children and claim child benefit for them. I earn £55,000 a year but after deducting pension contributions and gift aid donations this takes my income below £50,000, so no tax charge to pay. My question is, do I still need to register and complete a self assessment to let HMRC know this? Thanks very much in advance.

Hi,

If you are below £50,000 taking into account the pension contributions and gift aid you will not need to complete a Self Assessment return.

Thank you.
