Hello, I would like to deregister for a VAT without submitting a VAT return. I shouldn't register, was a mistake. I have an online shop and I had to( I think) register for VAT because my supplier is from Italy. I am closing the shop because I don't have any sales, BUT I didn't realize something, because I am driving for Uber Eats and Just Eat I have to pay now VAT back to January for all payments I have received from them. Does anyone know how to deregister from VAT without submitting returns? Or what to do in this case? Many Thanks

You can apply to deregister via your Business Tax Account on GOV.UK. Or you can complete a VAT7.

However,  you are likely to have to submit at least one VAT return.

If you'd like to discuss this in further detail, please contact HMRC:
