Hello. I provide web design and development services to clients registered in the EU, USA, and UK. Most of my income comes from clients in the USA which is greater than £85,000. What I understand from reading the registration requirements of VAT is that because the services to the USA are outside the scope of VAT, it doesn't count towards the threshold. Am I correct in thinking that only once the £85k has been reached for UK sales and services would I need to register? Thank you.

Hi webdesigner1887,

You are correct your income that is outside the scope of UK VAT does not count towards your taxable turnover for VAT Registration.

Thank you.
