Export from UK into Ireland - Non-transit

We have a client in the UK who want to make their own declarations for export out of UK and Import into Ireland. They want the trailer to be customs cleared at our Temporary Storage facility just outside of Dublin, can this be done without a T1?

The rules and procedures will be different depending on where in the UK the goods will be exported from. Would you therefore please  advise if it will be GB or NI?.

It would also be helpful to know if the goods leaving the UK are free circulation goods or duty suspended, and if the latter can you  advise which special procedure they were under?

Hello, The goods are moving from GB into ROI, as the freight forwarder we are moving the goods (we are based both in the UK and Ireland). We have multiple clients and some are making their own declarations. There will be some clients moving goods that are free circulation and others who will be looking at duty suspended.

Making a ‘non-transit’ (standard) export declaration from GB to the ROI from 01/01/2021 will be possible.

However, the second part of your enquiry concerns import and clearance procedures in the ROI, and is therefore not something HMRC can provide advice on.

You are respectfully advised to contact the customs authority in the ROI for guidance in this respect.
