For tax year 06/04/2020 - 05/04/2021 Im trying to determine if I was a tax resident. I was unemployed and living in the uk from the 06/04/2020 - 24/06/2020. I left the uk for Germany on the 24/06/2020 and started my job 15/07/2020 and worked every day for the rest of the tax year. I technically had 80 consecutive days at the start of the tax year where I didn't work as my job hadn't started yet. Does that mean I fail 3rd automatic overseas test?
I need to fill out a self-assessment tax return form for tax year 2022/23 during this period I was in receipt of a Stipend from the RAF for a PhD research program used to cover tuition fees and living maintenance. It totaled 3 x 1472.33 GBP payments directly into my bank account. The stipend was not subject to income tax or national insurance payments. Do I need to declare this in my self-assesment tax return, if so where? Thank you
I'm a UK resident and did some freelance work for a French company over a 3-month period in the 2022/2023 tax year whilst doing this work I stayed in France. I received 3 installments of 600 GBP totalling 1800 GBP paid into my uk bank account in GBP. This was a one-off freelance work and haven't done any since. Do I need to register as self-employed for my self-assessment tax return?
