RE: Taking lump sums from more than one pension pot
Hi
We cannot provide financial advice in this forum. For that you will need to seek professional advice.
It is up to you whether you take the lump sums in different tax years or the same tax year.
You will receive 25% tax free either way.
Thank you. -
RE: Emergency Tax payment on closure of Private Pension
Hi
We can review the current tax year plus the previous 4 tax years. This will be back to the 2020/21 tax year.

RE: Tax Code change in first month of receiving State Pensio
Hi
While it will appear the full amount of state pension is applied to your tax code, your code will also have been changed to a Week 1 / Month 1 basis - this means that you receive a week's worth of your tax free allowances, every week.
Adding the full amount of your state pension entitlement to your code then ensures your weekly allowances are reduced by 1/52 of your overall state pension entitlement,
so that you effectively pay the right amount of tax on the state pension you receive each week.
If you need any more advice on how your code has been updated, contact us by webchat or phone via
Income Tax: general enquiries

RE: Taxable Benefit
Hi
You would need to declare the 2023/24 P11d on your Self Assessment tax return.
The taxable benefit decalred will then be used as an estiamte going forward in your 2024/25 tax code.
If the benefit details have changed then once the code has been amended you can contact HMRC to review Income Tax: general enquiries

RE: Lump Sum SIPP withdrawal for Maltese Tax Resident - zero rated tax code, tax refund paperwork
Hi Adrian
HMRC cannot issue a tax code prior to an income source being in payment and the SIPP company will therefore operate an emergancy tax code on your withdrawal.
The tax can then be reclaimed by submitting the DT Individual form - this must be certifies by the Maltese government at section 1.
The pension details should be declared at section C2. If you intend to take a monthly pension payment we can then issue the NT code so that no further tax is taken.

RE: Tax refund has NOT been issued - well past the prescribed "6-8 weeks".
Hi
I'm sorry for the delay in refunding you your overpayment.
When carrying out checks on your overpayment, we may need to contact your sources of income to verify the figures you've provided - as such, releasing your overpayment can be dependent on how quickly we receive a response from these sources. While we fully appreciate how frustrating the wait to receive your repayment can be, we also have an obligation to be careful with taxpayer's money - any repayment fraudulently claimed and incorrectly issued is valuable public money potentially lost.

RE: Paper Self Assessment
Hi
Once the paper tax return is processed a tax calculation, form SA302, will be issued to you.
The current timescale is 7-8 weeks. This is an estimate and may change.
Thanks
