  • Self-Assessment showing as "LATE" despite being submitted and paid on time

Hello, I submitted my return last night (31/1) around 9.30pm and paid the tax due shortly thereafter (well before 11.59pm for both). I received a submission confirmation for the return, with a confirmation number. However, in the "View and manage your Self Assessment tax return" section, it is showing this as late, and in the "View your payments" section, nothing is showing up. I am assuming that this is because your systems take some time to update. I also assume that the submission date/time per the confirmation and the payment time per the email receipt for payment supersede any delayed system updates on your behalf for the purposes of assessing whether a return was filed late. Can you please confirm? Thanks.
  • Computation sheet

Hello, I hope you are well. I am preparing a self-assessment return and filling out the capital gains section. I made a gain holding a pool of a single asset. I have calculated the pool using the various buy and sell transactions and performed the necessary calculations to account for same day disposals and bed and breakfasting where relevant. How detailed does the computation sheet need to be that I will attach to my return? Can it be distilled down to the relevant information used to calculate the gain for the year, i.e. Description, Net disposal proceeds and date the pool began, and costs (essentially what the paper computation working sheet contains); or do I need to provide details of each transaction and show my work in the attachment? Thanks.
