Hi hive mind, I've had a request from somebody who I freelance for for my UTR number, and they've specifically requested I take a screenshot of it off my HMRC app or send them a picture of the letter so they can verify it with my address. This was a bit strange to me, so I asked why and they said they were required by HMRC to provide this information (my UTR) on their quarterly returns. I was under the impression that I didn't need to provide people I work for with my UTR, and having spoken to a couple of people on the HMRC Employer Advice line they are of the same thinking. Is this something they should be asking for?
