Hi, I was sent a letter that owed tax, I’m not self employed and I needed to do a self assessment. My Mother was dealing it for me as she was an accountant but then fell ill and sadly passed away it’s not been added to my tax and I’m struggling with money now cause I’m being taxed a lot. Is anyone able to advise whether I can still do the self assessment to try and get the money back or I just need to wait till it’s paid back.

Hi, any help would be appreciated can see there is a few folk in the same boat as me. Had a letter saying I was due tax and I had to do a self assessment. My Mother was helping me with it as she was an accountant but had fallen ill at the time and passed away so it never got sorted as I have been dealing with that and have no clue how to go about it. It’s now been added to my tax code and the amount I’m being taxed is taking a big amount off my wages and with the cost of living crisis it’s got me really worried. Has anyone got any advice?
