How do I claim fuel expenses correctly
Hi there, I'm using my personal vehicle for Uber Eats delivery driving. I'd like to expense some costs on my self-employed tax return but I'm confused with the Simplified Vehicle Expenses. By my understanding, you can claim .45p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles and then .25p per mile for any miles over 10,000. This is instead of claiming separate expenses like insurance, repairs, etc. If I wanted to claim my expenses separately, how do I claim fuel? Am I still able to expense the flat rate for business miles or only a percentage? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, /J
