Mistaken file Hong Kong pension income in the Self-assessment form and taxed by HMRC
Hi I am a retiree from Hong Kong and receive monthly pension from the Hong Kong government. I mistakenly filed my Hong Kong pension income in the last Self Tax assessment form and receive a formal Self Tax Statement from the HMRC including the tax charged for this Hong Kong Pension income. I just note that this pension income is not required to declare in my self-tax assessment form. The payment is not due at this stage. Please advise what can I do in rectifying this mistake? Thanks -
Monthly pension income from Hong Kong
Hi, Hi. I immigrated to UK on 2 March 2020 and receives monthly pension income from the HK government. Noting that Article 17 of the UK/ Hong Kong Double Taxation Agreement is in Force and pension income from Hong Kong government shall only be taxed in Hong Kong . Do I need to fill this income in the Tax Self-assessment Form? Thanks Danny LEUNG
