RE: Campervan sale
Thanks for your reply. Could you please confirm whether a campervan would be considered a passenger vehicle as it is used for private use or would it be considered a commercial vehicle because it is a type of van? I had a read but it doesn't specify campervans specifically, Many thanks -
Campervan sale
Hi, We've recently sold our campervan, it was originally just an empty panel van but we kitted it out ourselves. We bought it with our own personal money through a personal account, have used it for a few years and then sold it on a personal basis. It has sold for more than we spent on it, would we have to pay tax on any gains made or would it be treated like any other personal vehicle for tax purposes? Many thanks -
Acceptable means of valuation for a property
Hi, Myself, my wife, brother and sister-in-law, jointly own a house. They're very kindly looking to gift their half of the house to us. We're aware they would be subject to capital gains tax but my questions is, if the property isn't being sold, what is an acceptable means of valuation? Does it have to be valued by a surveyor or can it be valued by an estate agent? On a separate note, can the original legal fees for purchasing the house and any stamp duty paid be included as an expense? Many thanks Dave
