Payment records from 10 years ago
Hi - I asked HMRC to verify if a cheque they sent me 10 years ago was actually cashed (don't have any recollection myself). The reply was that this is not possible because they do not hold records for payments more than 7 years old. Is this true ? I find it hard to believe HRMC doesnt keep records for longer than 7 years.
