    Hi, I am trying to correct my name in HMRC records. I don't have a surname, only given name/ first name in passport and Driving Licence. The second part of my given name is reflected as my surname in HMRC records. Due to this I am unable to confirm my identity for accessing personal tax account as my name in HMRC records is not matching with my name on Driving Licence. I called on 0300 200 3300. They tried to correct it but couldn't succeed as their system didn't allow removing surname. They asked me to contact Online support on 03002003600. Online support told me that they cannot make any changes to my personal information. They also told that you need to have a surname to access HMRC online services. Finally, they asked me to call HMRC helpline 0300 200 3300!! I am stuck in a loop now. Can someone help finding a way out?

    Hi, I tried leaving first name blank and got the same error There is a problem Enter your first name I am struggling to confirm my identity for more than an year. Made several calls and email communications. No success.
