"As your turnover is above the VAT threshold" - My VAT Taxable Turnover Is Below The Threshold
Hi, I'm filling out my self assessment and I've been hit with the following message as my turnover is over £85,000: "As your turnover is above the VAT threshold, a detailed breakdown of your total expenses is required here." However, my VAT taxable turnover is way below the threshold (~£5,000). Is there an option where I can indicate this so that I don't have to provide a detailed breakdown of expenses? Or do I need to fill out a supplementary form? -
RE: Do I Still Need To Pay Tax After Leaving The UK?
Thank you So even though I have PAYE job (separate from my self assessment work), I shouldn't do a P85? Just want to make certain of this -
Do I Still Need To Pay Tax After Leaving The UK?
I left the UK in June (I won't be back in the UK until at least 2024). I also do a self assessment each year. I thought I'd need to complete a P85 form to submit to HMRC. Online it says that if you do a self assessment, then you wouldn't usually submit this form. Is this correct in my case (with me being employed as well as doing self assessment for a separate enterprise)? I have also just had a notification that my payment on account for my self assessment (for this tax year) is overdue. Is it best to pay this now and then claim it back via an accountant at the end of the tax year (it's my understanding that you need the help of an accountant to submit forms SA109 etc)? Or should I call HMRC to inform them that I'm out of the country so that I don't have to make the payment/make a part payment?
