  • Moving from PAYE to Sched D within the same organisiation

    Hi I work as a sole trader and freelance for several companies. I was given a six month contract with one organisation on PAYE. I have recently been informed, when this contact ends, I will not be allowed to work for that organisation (or any of it's subsidiaries) for 8 week (2 months) if I remain PAYE in their employment on an ad hoc basis, or 6 months if I work for them and retain my Schedule D sole trader status. I was not informed of this when I agreed the six month contract and noticed their policy document on the matter was amended in Sept 24 when I was already in contract. Could anyone confirm this is the correct HMRC policy.
