  • Rent a room relief if I'm staying elsewhere for the year

Hi I am the sole owner of a property that I live in currently. I received a job offer in another part of the country for the next year and will need to stay in the local accommodation as it is much easier to commute that way. However, I plan to keep my current property as my main residence (address for correspondence, GP, and leave most of my belongings here). If I rent out a furnished room in the house, can I claim rent a room relief? Thanks.
