P85 or SA109 confused
Dear all, I am maybe moving from the UK temporarily, although I will rent my property out in the interim. Which form should I fill out to inform HMRC, as I am rather confused. Furthermore, when I do return how do I inform HMRC and will i be able to log on to my gateway again. Thank you -
Rental Property
Hello there, I may be considering living abroad and renting out my property. How will I be able to do tax returns if I am unable to use the gateway? Also, as the house is in both my and wife's name, the income can be split to reflect our respective tax allowance. Thank you -
Proving Income abroad
Dear HMRC, I would like to purchase a home abroad, but before I wire the money , naturally they need to do checks. Would it be safe to send the foreign bank my Tax calculations and payments that are contained with in my personal tax hrmc website. I am hesitant as it does have my UTR number, but I am not sure how else I can clearly show evidence. I look forward to receiving your help Thank you -
P85 form
If you do not owe any more tax, do you still need to fill out a P85 form if you're leaving abroad? On the form, it does say how many days per year do you expect to come back over the next three years. Obviously this is difficult to know but if one puts a figure less than 182 days would this mean that the individual is a non-resident for tax reasons and hence not liable for foreign income in the UK. Many thanks -
Coming back to the UK
If I were to leave the UK and move back, is it wise to make a note of NI number and UTR number. Also, how and whom would I advise that I am back. Warmest Regards -
RE: Moving abroad
Hello there, Would I do a P85 as soon as I know I am leaving ? or shall I wait when I have definitely left. If so sending the form abroad may be tricky. Please advise the most sensible approach. -
RE: Moving abroad
Thank you your reply. I usually do a tax return as I am director. However by the time I leave I will not have been and will not have any further tax liabilities as I will be moving in a future tax year. On this basis, would you kindly confirm that a p85 would suffice. Also, if I am abroad how would I inform the tax man as I will not know the exact dates I leave and may not be enough time to inform HMRC prior to me leaving. I await your response -
RE: Selling property after moving abroad
Would I have to report the sale as a non-resident as soon as I leave or if I have left more than 6 months in the tax year? Many thanks -
State pension
Hello there, I was wondering If myself and my wife (who has permanent residence) are both entitled to our state pension when we reach of age, even though we are living abroad. If so, how would I contact HMRC to inform them where the pension should be sent to. -
Moving abroad
If I were to move abroad and all my tax is up-to-date. Would I still need to inform HMRC and if so how should I do it once I am abroad? I may not know precisely when a move if and when I choose to go, so it's rather confusing how I would advise HMRC when the time arises.
